REPORT ON WORKSHOP ON ADOLESCENCE
It has been rightly quoted by an American Psychologist, G. Stanley Hall, “Adolescence is a new birth, for the higher and more completely human traits are born.”
Keeping in consideration this sensitive phase of life, a workshop was organised at Shivalik Public School, SST Nagar, Patiala on 02/08/2022. Ms. Ramanpreet Kaur, Consultant Psychiatrist from Manipal Hospital (Columbia Asia Hospital), Patiala, appraised the students with adolescence as a stage of students' life. In two separate sessions for boys and girls, she not only made the students acquainted with the challenges they may face but also guided them how to deal with them. She focused on physical, hormonal and mental changes alongwith child abuse, puberty, menstruation and anger management. One to one consultation was also provided in the later half of the workshop. The students were guided to practice yoga and meditation through which these changes can be well adjusted in their life.
