Science Day was conducted successfully in Shivalik Public School, Patiala on 28th February’ 2020 with great zeal and students from classes V to +1 participated and spread the latest knowledge about inventions and discoveries in the field of science. Students illustrated the Raman Effect and also discussed its application in the present era.

Topics like Corona Virus, eco-friendly environment, sequencing genome to cure cancer patients, HIV, say no to chips and packets were discussed through skit.

Science teacher, Ms. Charanpreet Kaur told the importance this day and explained about it with some latest inventions.  Thereafter, Ms. Savita Bansal motivated the students to develop scientific attitude by developing three qualities in them- curiosity, imagination and determination by giving a few examples of Sir C V Raman and Michael faraday who brought laurels to the country when India was slave and no well-established laboratories were made.

Our Provost, Ms. Bhupinder Kaur Bhamra threw light on the significance of science day as “Science for the people and people for the Science” and also the role of science and technology in our daily life. She gave emphasis on the  science and technology for our present generation and motivated our students for better research while applying innovative ideas. She also elaborated the role of students in the development and progression of research in the field of science and technology to take up challenges at a higher level.
