CALLIGRAPHY COMPETITION HELD AT SHIVALIK PUBLIC SCHOOL
“Our handwriting style depicts our personality traits”. Shivalik Public School conducted calligraphy competition of all three languages on 9th October’ 2019 which was held to improve presentation skills and to inculcate habit of good handwriting among students. The students from classes III to +2 took part in it. The students were told that this art is an effective way to communicate a message in a beautiful way.
The event was held in view of the changing ways of communication due to growing interest in computers. Handwriting skills have been forgotten and there is 'handwriting crises' these days. So to overcome these problems, this competition is regularly held at class level. All the students participated with full enthusiasm and showed excellent creativity through their writing skills.
The assessment was done on the basis of writing style, curves and patterns, legibility and neatness, beautification etc. The winners of the competition with best handwritings were rewarded with certificates. Principal said that the adolescents of today should be encouraged to write properly and for this, such type of competitions turn out to be very meaningful for the students.
