Shivalik Public School, Patiala, organized an Oath, Rally, and Seminar to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, with the objective of reducing stigma, promoting prevention, and extending support to people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA).
Students of Classes IX–XII took a solidarity oath, pledging compassion, empathy, and non-discrimination towards PLWHA.
Class IX students led an awareness rally, holding placards and raising slogans to encourage community involvement in AIDS awareness initiatives.
An informative seminar was conducted for Class X students, where they were sensitized about:
HIV transmission
Methods of prevention
Importance of Antiretroviral Therapy (ART)
Urgent need to eliminate social stigma
The session also emphasized the role of youth as responsible citizens in spreading accurate information and creating a healthier society.
The programme was highly interactive, with students actively participating in discussions and clearing misconceptions about the disease. Teachers highlighted the importance of awareness in building an inclusive and supportive environment for those affected.
This initiative not only enhanced students’ knowledge but also reinforced the values of empathy , compassion and social responsibility.
It served as a reminder that education plays a vital role in shaping attitudes and fostering a society that embraces care , dignity , and acceptance for all.
