Shivalik Public Schools Host INSET 2025: Paving the Path to Excellence in Teaching
Mohali, 1st June 2025:
In a visionary stride towards redefining educational practices, Shivalik Public Schools successfully organized a transformative INSET (In-Service Education and Training) Programme from 26th May to 31st May 2025, under the inspiring theme “Towards Excellence in Teaching: A Week of Insightful Learning.” Held across various Shivalik branches, the programme brought together educators in a shared mission of professional enrichment, innovation, and reflective practice.
Teachers from all branches — Shivalik Public School, Mohali; Patiala; Nawanshahr; Chandigarh; and Sector 78 Mohali — along with educators from the Shivalik Institute of Education and Research — actively participated in this week-long programme, reaffirming the institution’s collective commitment to professional growth and educational excellence.
At the very outset of the programme, a heartfelt tribute was paid to the Founder and Director of Shivalik Public Schools, Mr. D.S. Bedi, whose enduring vision and unwavering dedication have laid the foundation for the institution’s pursuit of excellence. His lifelong commitment to holistic, value-based education continues to inspire the teaching fraternity, serving as a guiding light for every initiative undertaken in the school. The tribute was a moment of reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to uphold the ideals he so passionately championed.
This week-long initiative was thoughtfully curated to align contemporary classroom practices with the frameworks of CBSE and the National Education Policy (NEP 2020). It offered a rich spectrum of sessions focusing on mental wellness, experiential and inquiry-based learning, inclusive education, educational leadership, and the integration of artificial intelligence in pedagogy.
Educators explored vital strategies for fostering student well-being, including sessions on mindfulness, stress management, and the importance of emotional resilience. The significance of affirmative communication in creating nurturing classroom environments was eloquently conveyed by Dr. Gurkiranjeet Nalwa, setting a deeply reflective tone for the week.
Innovation took center stage as teachers were introduced to AI-powered tools like ChatGPT, Adobe Express, Magicschool AI, and the Suno App, which are transforming lesson planning, content creation, and personalized learning. Experiential learning techniques and the power of art in education were explored through dynamic workshops, emphasizing creativity as a bridge to emotional and cognitive development.
Inclusivity and student-centered learning were integral to the programme. Sessions led by experts such as Ms. Swati Rai underscored the role of autonomous, inquiry-led learning in a digital age. Collaborative lesson planning and peer interactions deepened understanding of equitable, differentiated instruction tailored to diverse learner needs.
A compelling highlight was the session by Ms. Pretty Bhalla from the DASHA Department, Lovely Professional University, who explored the concept of neuroplasticity and its implications for fostering creativity and joy in learning. Workshops on ethical leadership and classroom visioning encouraged educators to reflect on their roles as proactive, compassionate leaders.
In their valedictory remarks, Dr. Gurkiran Jeet Nalwa, Principal, SPS Chandigarh, and Dr. Anupkiran Kaur, Principal, SPS Mohali, emphasized the importance of lifelong professional development, collaborative learning, and adaptability in a rapidly evolving educational landscape.
INSET 2025 stood not merely as a training programme, but as a celebration of learning, leadership, and legacy — reaffirming Shivalik Public Schools’ commitment to cultivating inspired, innovative, and inclusive educators ready to shape the future with purpose and passion.
As INSET 2025 drew to a close, it became more than just a professional development programme — it emerged as a powerful testament to the collective aspiration of Shivalik educators to lead with insight, adapt with agility, and teach with heart. Grounded in the rich legacy of its founder, Mr. D.S. Bedi, and steered by the visionary leadership of its principals, the initiative reaffirmed that teaching is not merely a profession, but a continuous journey of growth, reflection, and purpose.
With renewed energy and a shared commitment to innovation, inclusion, and excellence, the educators are now better equipped not only to meet the demands of 21st-century classrooms but to inspire minds, nurture potential, and shape futures. INSET 2025 was not an end, but a beginning — a launchpad for transforming educational possibilities into powerful realities.
