Shivalik Public School, Mohali, celebrated the 79th Independence Day of India with immense zeal and patriotic fervour. The entire school was infused with the spirit of nationalism and unity.
"The celebration commenced with the solemn flag-hoisting ceremony, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem and a stirring patriotic song. The melodious performance stirred deep emotions of love and devotion towards the Motherland, inspiring students to uphold the spirit of sacrifice and to take pride in the unity that flourishes amidst diversity. Adding to the grandeur of the occasion, the NCC contingent of the school presented a meticulously executed drill, which was lauded for its precision, discipline, and impeccable coordination."
The school auditorium came alive with glimpses of India’s glorious history and freedom struggle, brought to life through a vibrant array of performances. Students, dressed in the tricolour hues of green, white, and saffron, radiated energy and pride in every act.
The cultural programme featured an impressive line-up of speeches, group songs, poems, solo performances, dances, and skits portraying the relentless struggle and immense contribution of our national heroes in securing India’s sovereignty and self-rule. Skits and role plays added a touch of liveliness, while literary presentations conveyed heartfelt emotions in a meaningful manner. Patriotic group songs and dances kept the audience captivated, with Shivalikians swaying between emotions of joy, hope, and pride.
Furthermore ,as part of the official Independence Day celebrations,the girls of classes VI-VIII participated in a vibrant Giddha performance at the Government College, Phase-6, Mohali, earning appreciation for showcasing Punjab's rich cultural heritage.
Principal Dr. Anupkiran Kaur applauded the combined efforts of the students and teachers in putting up a spectacular and well-coordinated programme that truly captured the essence of Independence Day.
The event concluded on a high note with the singing of the National Anthem and the distribution of sweets among the students, leaving everyone with hearts brimming with pride for the nation.
