Shivalik Public School, Mohali, organised an Orientation Programme for the students and parents of Class X. The session aimed at providing comprehensive guidance regarding academics, examination systems, and CBSE requirements.
Parents were briefed about the CBSE LOC (List of Candidates), the importance of submitting accurate student data, and the new rules laid down for the 2026 submission as per CBSE circular no. CBSE/ LOC/ X - XII /25-26. The Class X teachers highlighted the recent provision of two Board examinations for Class X, along with the eligibility criteria for appearing in the exams.
Detailed information was shared regarding the syllabus and scheme of examinations, the process of creating APAR IDs and their significance, and guidance on opting for Basic or Standard Mathematics in Class X. The orientation also covered the criteria for internal and external assessments, the system of evaluation, the structure of the Class X paper, and the effective use of the CBSE academic website for sample papers and resources.
The School Counsellor gave effective study tips and techniques to the board classes, encouraging students to manage time efficiently and maintain a balanced routine. The Principal, Dr. Anupkiran Kaur, responded to the concerns of parents and students, assuring them of the school’s continuous support and guidance in academic and personal growth.
In addition, emphasis was laid on discipline, regular attendance, sincerity, behaviour, and values, as integral components of academic success. The programme proved highly informative for both students and parents, enabling them to gain clarity about academic expectations and board preparations.
The session concluded with an interactive round where queries from parents and students were taken up by the teachers and the coordinator.
