Shivalik Public School, Mohali, organised an Orientation Programme for the students and parents of Class XII for the session 2025–26. The programme aimed at providing comprehensive guidance regarding academics, CBSE requirements, and the examination system.
Parents were oriented about the CBSE LOC (List of Candidates) submission, as per the latest circular CBSE/LOC/X-XII/25-26, stressing the importance of accurate data entry regarding names, subject combinations, and details as per the Admission and Withdrawal Register. The resource persons emphasised that LOC submission is a crucial step towards Board Examination.
The detailed scheme of studies and marks division for different streams – Medical, Non-Medical, and Commerce – was explained, including the theory and practical weightage in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Accountancy, Economics, Business Studies, English Core, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physical Education. Parents and students were also made aware of Internal Grade Assessment in Health and Physical Education, General Studies, and Work Experience, which requires active participation in co-curricular activities like Annual Functions, Sports Meet, and Science Exhibition.
Information was provided on the Migration Certificate, which will now be made available in soft copy after result declaration. The benefits of the APAAR ID were also highlighted, including its role in providing a unified lifelong academic identity, seamless transitions across institutions, credit transfer, and simplified verification.
The session also discussed the system of assessment and evaluation for Class XII, the availability of CBSE sample papers on the academic website, and the importance of discipline, attendance, sincerity, behaviour, and values. As per CBSE norms, students must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance to be eligible for examinations.
The School Counsellor shared useful insights on effective study practices, encouraging students to adopt systematic planning and balanced routines for better performance in the board examinations.
The Principal, Dr. Anupkiran Kaur, addressed the gathering and responded to the queries of parents and students. She reassured them of the school’s continued support and emphasised the importance of sincerity, discipline, and regular attendance in achieving success.
