Culmination of 7 Day NSS Camp with stern commitment to serve the nation in Shivalik Public School, M

Shivalik Public School, Phase- 6, Mohali successfully concluded its week-long NSS camp held from December 3 to December 9, 2024, providing students with a platform to engage in service-oriented activities and educational experiences. The camp focused on instilling values of social responsibility, teamwork and self-improvement.

The event began with a formal inauguration and included diverse activities throughout the week. Participants explored the rich biodiversity of the school herbal garden and visited renowned institutions such as PRC Mohali, Children Traffic Park, Chandigarh, Verka Plant Mohali, the Air Force Museum, and Pingalwara, where they gained valuable insights into their operations. An enriching visit to the Institute of Blind and Village Daun allowed students to interact with the community. The NSS Volunteers served Langar at Gurudwara, and created awareness through a rally and a nukkad natak on the "Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan."

Inspirational lectures by esteemed speakers like Ms. Ishita on “POSCO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act),” Dr. Goggi Gupta on effective study tips, Ms. Seema Malik on Women and Child Rights and Ms. Preeti Swami on the role of youth in society left a lasting impression on volunteers. A special session by Mr. Kulwinder Singh, Assistant Director, NSS, highlighted the significance of My Bharat Portal.

The valedictory ceremony of the NSS Camp 2024-25 was held on 09 December, 2024. The event began with a soulful rendition of the school shabad, followed by an inspiring welcome speech by Sidakpreet Kaur and a thoughtful message delivered by Gurleen Kaur. Vibhor and Akshit presented a comprehensive report on the week’s activities through an engaging presentation, while Class XI students captivated the audience with the NSS song. Simranjit Kaur enlightened the gathering with a speech on the basic components of NSS, hasya kavita by Diksha Singh and Jasleen Sidhu took the audience through the history and growth of the organization. Poetic contributions by Khushbu, Harshvardhan, and Jaspinder Kaur highlighted themes of motivation, service, and cleanliness, while a heartfelt nukkad natak, "Ek Kadam Swachhta Ki Aur," emphasized the importance of cleanliness in daily life. Cultural performances including solo and group songs, dances by both boys and girls, added energy and color to the ceremony.

In order to keep the Volunteers’ spirit high, Certificates were given to the participants. The Principal delivered a motivating address expressing pride in the students’ accomplishments. She emphasized that the major objective of the NSS was to inculcate noble human and social values among the youth. She appreciated the activities undertaken in the camp and applauded the outstanding efforts of the volunteers. The camp concluded with the singing of National Anthem. Inspiring each to carry forward the spirit of service and social responsibility.
