Shivalik Public School, Mohali, celebrated 77th Republic Day of India with great enthusiasm, dignity, and a deep sense of national pride. The entire school campus resonated with patriotic fervour and reverence for the ideals of the Indian Constitution.
The celebration commenced with a warm welcome extended to the esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Jyoti Soni, Principal, Shivalik Institute of Education and Research, Mohali, Dr. Anupkiran Kaur, Principal and Dr. Teena Chopra, Vice Principal of the School. This was followed by the solemn unfurling of the National Flag by the Chief Guest, symbolising honour and respect for the nation, and the rendition of the National Anthem. The occasion was further marked by an impressive march past, reflecting discipline, unity, and reverence for the values of the Republic.
In the other segment of the celebrations, the school auditorium came alive with vivid glimpses of India’s glorious history, constitutional journey, and democratic values. The cultural programme featured an impressive blend of speeches, poems, skits, presentations, group songs, and patriotic dance performances highlighting the significance of Republic Day and the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution. Literary recitations conveyed heartfelt emotions, while the skit effectively portrayed the relevance of democracy and civic responsibility in present times.
Extending the spirit of Republic Day beyond the school premises, Bhangra performance from Classes VI to VIII captivated the audience at the State celebrations at Government College, Phase-6, Mohali. NCC cadets of the school also presented a disciplined and commendable performance at the same venue.
In her address, Principal of the School, Dr. Anupkiran Kaur, reminded the students about importance of fulfilling one’s duties more than the rights. She encouraged students to practise constitutional values in their daily conduct and to grow into responsible and responsible citizens of the nation. The programme concluded with the soulful rendition of the National Anthem.
