77th Independence Day

Shivalik Public School, Mohali celebrated the 77th Independence Day of India with great zeal and enthusiasm.

The celebration commenced with the flag-hoisting ceremony where the unfurling of the National Flag was followed by the National Anthem. Thereafter, vigorous and zealous March Past was displayed by contingents of school students. The students of Choir group Class 6th to 8th in their melodious voices sang the Patriotic song ‘Saare Jahan se Acha’ that awakened everyone’s feelings towards the Mother Land. Through their serenade, they declared to be willing to sacrifice every thing for their nation and rejoiced in the unity that continued to exist despite their diversity.

In the school Auditorium, glimpses of the glory and freedom struggle of India were presented through a plethora of performances including  patriotic dances, poetic recitations, role plays and songs were exhibited. This rekindled the spirit of nationalism in every heart .Shivalikians seemed to be swayed away in the mixed.The students, dressed in the vibrant colours of the nation - green, white and saffron displayed the distinguished ardour in their performances. Some of the breathtaking performances were- “Bharat ki Beti” , “Naya Bharat”, “Mock Parliament” and Bhangra by students of Classes 9th to 12th.

Most noteworthy moments were marked by golden words of advice and motivation by worthy Principal. Dr. Anupkiran Kaur. She appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers. She invigorated all the students to be a better citizen and strive to make India a developed nation. Director, Shivalik Public Schools, Mr.D.S. Bedi commended the combined efforts of the students and teachers for exhibiting such a wonderful display of zeal and patriotism.The celebrations culminated with the National Anthem.
