CELEBRATION OF WORLD BOOK DAY IN SHIVALIK PUBLIC SCHOOL, PATIALA 

In order to provide a propitious environment where the young talents would think out of the box and have a great learning experience, World Book Day Celebration was held at Shivalik Public School, Patiala wherein students participated in numerous engrossing activities.

The school organized a special assembly to celebrate this day. Harshit Uppal  of class II-B and Gagan of class IX-A delivered speeches on ‘The importance of Books’ and ‘Why we celebrate World Book Day?’ respectively. There was an enactment on the theme of ‘Importance of books’  by the students of classes VI to VIII.

To mark the creativity of the students, a book mark making competition was organized for the students of grade 3 to +2. It was an individual activity that aimed to extract the creative skills of the students wherein they showed their full interest to make the best and useful bookmarks.

To add more to this day, a Book fair was organized inwhich many activities like welcome speech, poem recitation, story telling, book review etc were on display. This special exhibition was initiated by school librarian, Mrs. Aarti Saxena.

The day was observed with a lot of excitement with an aim to promote and cultivate the habit of reading. All the participants and teachers were highly appreciated by the school Principal, Ms.Bhupinder Kaur Bhamra for their excellent performance.
